About Cosmic Dash: A Science Fiction Series
Cosmic Dash is a science fiction series that explores a galaxy embroiled in a cold war as factions vie for control of territory. A devastating Dividing War shattered a Grand Galactic Alliance over a century prior to the main story of Cosmic Dash.
The main story of Cosmic Dash, explored in comics, fiction, and radio plays, follows Dash Kameku and his friends as they travel the galaxy in the Lucky Strike II and find themselves drawn into different adventures. The galaxy’s three biggest factions have created an environment full of simmering tension that may lead to outright war.
But even these factional grievances are far from the only threat Dash and the crew must navigate. They become entangled with crime lords, galactic cults, corporate espionage, space kaiju, and dangerous artificial intelligences. Even worse, outside threats such as invaders from the other side of the galaxy and beings from other dimensions have their influence on the Silver Spiral Galaxy.

Maps of the Silver Spiral Galaxy
If you are looking for a general sense of what the galaxy looks like and what political boundaries exist, please check these maps out.
The (known) galaxy is primarily controlled by three factions: The Federation, the Blassnaught Empire, and the Cyclopasian Neutrality. All factions have their parts to play and compete for influence within the setting.

Where can I read the comics?
The Cosmic Dash comics were originally in the form of a traditional webcomic featuring page by page updates. Following changing priorities to the series, they are now collected into PDF volumes. Future comics, when they emerge, may be run as special presentation posts before they are collected into the PDF archives.
You can currently download volume one of Cosmic Dash, featuring over 100 pages as a PDF. Volumes two through four are due to land within the next few months as of when this page has been updated.
What is the difference between Cosmic Dash and Silver Spiral Stories?
Cosmic Dash is the umbrella that contains more than the main narrative featuring Dash, Mara, Kracker, and the crew of the Lucky Strike II. Other narratives have emerged over the course of the adventures, such as the story of Orthos Kabalos. These stories that do not follow the main characters of Cosmic Dash are considered to be Silver Spiral Stories, which are a reference to the setting of the Silver Spiral Galaxy.
There are so many potential stories that a special title had to be established just to keep them separated from the main story. You can follow the distinct headers on associated posts to keep track of where a story is placed.

About the Talent
David Davis is the creator of Cosmic Dash and Silver Spiral Stories. You can find much of his work on his portfolio website.
David is fortunate to have worked with a fantastic roster of contributors to the science fiction series Cosmic Dash:
- Deft Beck contributes to stories and concepts and can also be found on Twitter. Additionally, he manages the Cosmic Dash mirrors and creates themed Spotify playlists based on the characters. Deft Beck is also the creator of the spinoff series, NightLifers. Consider Deft Beck the second authority regarding canon.
- Kevin Hayman contributed inks to Cosmic Dash vol. 4, episode 2, and other instances in the series.
- Tobias Van Den Bergh is an animator who inked many pages in volume three. He can also be found on Twitter.
- Shrimpula inked Cosmic Dash vol. 4, episode 1. Shrimpula can be found on Twitter.
- Gage Lippolt wrote Galactic Hub Serreven – “Those Before Us.”
If you wish to support these creators, please contribute to the hpkomics Ko-fi account. This helps to fund further collaborations.
How to Support the Project
Commenting on and sharing posts and stories you read is always welcome. It’s truly exciting to see a new message from readers like you and it tends to be a highlight of my day. Of course, one of the best ways to help independent creators on the web is through financial support such as donations or purchasing merch.
Shirts, stickers, and more can be purchased through the hpkomics Teepublic collection. Additionally, digital goods, PDFs, and art resources can be found at the hpkomics Ko-Fi store.
The easiest and most efficient way to support the author in their endeavor is though donating or subscribing to their Ko-fi account.
F.A.Q.
Here is the F.A.Q. page for all Cosmic Dash questions that come up frequently. Please email me if you have any specific questions that you feel should be added to this list.
Q: What are some of the resources you’ve used for the comic?
A: Huge thanks to Synduo for cleaning up the Cosmic Dash logo concept into the current logo. I used screen tones by Psychobob in the first three episodes of Volume One. Since then, I’ve developed my own screen tones that I use exclusively. Many of the fonts I used in Volume One, aside from my hand-written style, are from Blambot or dafont. I try to use open-source fonts. Starting with episodes four and five I stopped using freeware fonts.
You can purchase my hpkomic script fonts through Ko-Fi. They are my standard comic dialogue fonts. I also have screen tones and photoshop brushes available that are used in the comic.
Other fonts used in the comics:
- Listium
- Agency
- Antique Olive
- Damn Noisy Kids
- DeathRattle BB
- WhoopAss
