I’m back with a new sketchbook update. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Coyote Vs. ACME, that Daffy Duck, my favorite Looney Tunes character, had a substantial cameo. So I wanted to see how I might draw him and what version of him would most influence my take.
Anyway, let’s check it out.
I think it’ll take a couple more tries to get the overall look to something I really like. I am definitely seeing some of the more recent classic style, as seen in Coyote Vs. ACME and The Day The Earth Blew Up. I also see a little bit of the mid-40s through early 50s Chuck Jones Daffy sliding into my take. I feel my perfect Daffy Duck is a blend of bubbling-anger Daffy and completely goofy, looney “woohooing” Daffy.
Not much else to add to this today. I might draw him again at some point. Does he look recognizable to you? Let me know what you think I could improve on.
