The Author

David Davis is a writer, illustrator, and educator who lives in Southern California. He earned his Associate’s degree from Mt. San Jacinto College, his Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Riverside, and his Master’s degree from California State University San Marcos.

He is currently employed as a tutor and teacher at Mt. San Jacinto College.

He often writes short stories, literary criticism, and articles. He finds himself working where he can to expand his publishing credits.

He’s always able to make time to talk to those who want a friendly ear, however.

hpkomics.com is the portfolio and blog I used to share my work, including original material published for this website. You’ll be able to find essays, illustrations, and project updates here. This blog will cover a wide range of material, but the goal is to always have something interesting around the corner.

Here are some recurring questions and general information I want to convey without making entire posts about them.

Why is there so much going on here on the website?

I covered this a bit in my very first post, but the main idea is I missed a big, old-school web experience and wanted a platform of my own that could be used to explore whatever creative whims I have. The site still features all of the relevant information for a portfolio, but I mostly just wanted a space for myself, you know?

What social media platforms are you on?

Currently just Bluesky and Mastodon. I had a Twitter account (now X) but I’ve since deleted most posts and don’t use it anymore.

What is this CharacterHub thing?

CharacterHub is a website for OCs that I have done some work for, here and there. I mostly write blog posts for the website. However, I am also a member and many of my original characters can be found on the website via my profile.

What websites do you run?

Currently, I operate CosmicDash.com, Serreven.com, RGBots.com, hpkomics.com (obviously) and I have a few other domains I am sitting on. One such domain is EssayWriting101.com. I also assist with SupernaturalSelectionPod.com.
