What the hell happened?

Please bear with, this is going to be a kind of rambling post.

So, what happened to the site? Long story short, it’s getting a reboot. So where are the comics? They’re all in the art dump! Yes, every single comic including about 12 more that were unpublished. So nothing has been removed except the site. The forums are still running, as well as The Scienteers.

So what the hell happened?

In a nutshell, I fell into a rut and began to turn my love of comics into a chore. Always worrying about update frequency and pushing out large numbers of comics in a rush to maintain a strict schedule, I began to dislike what I was doing. Instead of making my comics for the sheer fun of it, I began to become competitive. On top of that, I was beginning to grow frustrated with my lack of planning and effort in the comics.

No, I am not quitting webcomics. Far from. This is a healing method of sorts. I will continue the comics that you’ve begun reading here. Only now I will update at my own pace, making sure I am happy with the pages and strips I post. All the comics that have been posting are still canon and anything that I post now will be in continuity, anything you’ve read before still applies only now we’re jumping ahead a bit with a cleaner slate and better quality work.

There will be a better looking site in place soon, and until then, I’ll still be doing comics. I’ll be doing a variety of guest-work for other comics as well as my work on The Scienteers. This includes a webcomic done by the group as a whole.

So, when can you expect new comics here on the site? I’d say give me about a month to have some new comics to post. Don’t expect much of a frequent schedule either, because I want to enjoy making comics.

So, go ahead and check out the complete archive, including the brand-new pages. When Cosmic Dash returns, I’ll be a much more enthusiastic individual.

Thank you and please keep an eye out. I’ll likely post some development sketches here.

That is both the joy and curse of webcomicry, and probably the reason why I decided to move on to other things (or maybe I’m still healing. I love #85 to bits, but I just don’t feel ready to take the reins of the project again) Yeah, in the world of art it’s best to work at your own pace, otherwise it comes out forced and haphazard. =/

Either way, I’ll look forward to seeing whatever you have to offer next, be it comics or otherwise. I always enjoy your work ^_^

Take your time, man. I think I know how you feel. Webcomics can be stressful, but you’ll work through it. I think I learned some things from what you said.

That’s all well and good and a hiatus is sometimes needed to stimulate creativity but…

You site was so pretty T__T
